The history of Stanley Bridge
The Stanley Bridge was named in honor of the British explorer Henry Morton Stanley, who discovered the sources of the Nile.
This bridge was built by the Arab Contractors Company during the period of Major General Abdel Salam Mahgoub, Governor of Alexandria at that time, for solving the traffic jam crisis in the Corniche area. It is opened for the public 2nd of September 2001.
The Stanley Bridge is characterized by distinctive lighting, charming view of the sea, and the beauty of its design as the bridge is with a length of 400 meters and a width of 21 meters, so it has become a tourist attraction for all visitors to Alexandria.
